Sex Tech Patent Index
Welcome to the Sex Tech Patent IndeXXX™ bulletin.  The currently-available editions feature a compilation of information relating U.S. utility patents that issued from the year 2015 through the first quarter of 2017 that appear to fall under the general umbrella of “Sex Tech.” The bulletin includes patents on sex toys, sex furniture, condoms, and other technology meant to enhance sexual pleasure. The general categories include:

  1. Massage for the genitals
  2. Devices for external stimulation of the genitals
  3. For inserting the genitals therein, e.g. vibrating rings for males or breast stimulating devices
  4. Clitoral stimulation devices
  5. Devices insertable in the genitals
  6. Having substantially cylindrical shape, e.g. dildos
  7. Devices for use during sexual intercourse
  8. Massage devices for cavities of the body, e.g. anus
  9. Vibration or percussion related aspects of sexual devices
  10. Penis erection devices
  11. Sexual electrostimulation devices
  12. Sex furniture
  13. Condoms

VR and AR technologies are included if they incorporate sex devices. Lubricants, lubricant shooters, male enhancement lengtheners/extenders, and other accessories are typically excluded. Medical devices and prosthetics are also excluded, although remember that sometimes, it’s a fine line as to where sex toys end and medical devices begin.

We at Unzipped Media, Inc. prepare the Sex Tech Patent IndeXXX™ bulletin using a proprietary formula. We begun with the first half of 2016, and have been working our way forward – as well as backward – from there. Note that due to the vast number of patents there are to search through, and the subjectivity of assignment of a categorization, this bulletin is meant for entertainment purposes only.* The content is growing and evolving, and results are now reported on a quarterly basis. Be sure to join our mailing list to receive future editions, as they become available, right in your email inbox!
